KIU1-2 Bugema University
Bugema University secured a 2-1 victory against Kampala International University (KIU) in the University Football League on Monday.
The Adventist institution fought from a goal down to secure maximum points on the road.
Eric Sawa and Kenneth Bwabye scored for Bugema University while Shafic Zziwa netted KIU’s lonely strike.
At the stroke of the first stanza, Zziwa fired the home side in the lead.
On top of the hour, the visitors missed a pure goal-scoring chance. In the same attack they claimed a penalty but the referee was not intrested.
However in the 71st minute, Sawa restored parity for Bugema as the game got back to life.
Twelve minutes later, Bwabye was the hero of the day as he fired Bugema into the lead.
The victory takes Bugema to the group (D) log summit with six points in three games. They have registered two wins and suffered one loss.
Group D will continue on Wednesday October 23 as Gulu University host Kampala University.
For staters, Gulu University has six points in two games and a win on Wednesday takes the institution back to the log summit.
